P.A. - Plate Appearances - How many times a batters goes to bat
A.B. - At Bats - The amount of times a batter gets to first base through hitting the ball. At-bats do not include walks, sacrifice flies, sacrifice bunts, obstruction calls, catcher's interference, or
being hit by a pitch. If a player makes it safely on base due to an error, it is an at-bat, but not a hit.
R - Runs scored - When a base runner crosses the plate and scores an official run.
H - Safe Hits -
When a batter reaches first base (or any succeeding base) safely on a fair ball which settles on the ground or touches a fence before being touched by a fielder, or which clears the home run fence or cones
H.R. - Home Run - When a batted ball is hit over a home run fence or cones on the full before bouncing. A home run can be also ran out as long as there are no fielding errors made.
R.B.I. - Runs batted In -
Credits a batter every run which reaches home base because of the batter's safe hit, sacrifice bunt, sacrifice fly, infield out or fielder's choice.
B.B. - Base on Balls - Four pitched balls that are not in the strike zone.
K - Strike out - Three pitched balls that cross the plate in the strike zone, which is the width of the plate and below the batters beast bone to above their knees.
S.B. - Stolen bases.
B.A. - Batting Average -
Divide the total number of safe hits (not the total bases on hits) by the total times at bat.
O.B.A. - On Base Average -
Divide the total of hits, all bases on balls, and hit by pitch by the total of at bats, all bases on balls, hit by pitch and sacrifice flies.
