Once again wayward pitching made it difficult for the Dodgers to stem the runs throughout the game and although getting off to a solid start and leading 2-0 after 3 innings and and matching the Rustlers with 11 hits each the game got away and the Rustlers were deserved winners Peter Higgins and JJ O'Connor with 3 hits each did well with the bats
A2 - Berwick 0 lost to Cheltenham 13.
After inflicting the Rustlers only defeat for the season last time around the Dodgers went into the game full of confidence and after 5 innings trailed 1- 0 and were in a great position to go on with it. Unfortunately things fell away a little after Rob Hogan came out in the 5th and the scoreline blew out a little, never the less a great opportunity for some of the young Dodgers to face some quality pitching
A3 - Berwick 10 def. Cheltenham 5.
Today was a good day, on a beautiful saturday afternoon, we took on the undefeated league leaders and came away with a sensational 10 - 5 win. A superb pitching display from the Bull, lead the way along with solid defense put us in a excellent position to win the game. The batting was lead by Andrew Hemmes with 3 hits and 4 R.B.I's. I can't remember who else got hits as I haven't got the scorebook, but stay tuned, will update soon.
A4 - Berwick 2 lost to Cheltenham 8.
We arrived at a sunny Cheltenham with a severely depleted line up due to injury and illness. Never the less the players resolve and attitude reflected as we took on the undefeated Rustlers. Although we didn't score in the first 3 digs, Shayne Nyholm-Hunter was back to his best and challenged the big hitting Rustlers backed up by some solid defence. Shunter, Beefa and PK gave us a bit of muscle in the heart of the order picking up hits and moving the runners around, and when Paul ‘Porno' Chinnock legged an inside the parker in the 4 th . we looked to be in with a chance being only 4 -2 down. With Glenn “Rookie” De Jong backing up some great plays at 2nd took a fastball to the tricep and we put “Bulldog” Price in to first. We battled on and matched it with the Rustlers. Beefa relieved “Shunter” and seemed to mesmerize Cheltenham, but as the game drew to a close the odd error crept in and the Rustlers added a few late inning runs to win 8 -2. Overall the team performed well in most departments but again we failed to put scoreboard pressure on the opposition early in the game with only scattered hits throughout the game. Hopefully we can go one better against Dingley next Saturday.
Till then – see you on the diamond.

Womens - Berwick 10 lost to Doncaster 11.
This week we played at Doncaster against Doncaster who are just sitting above us in the ladder with the same win/loss but after a close game this week keeping us in the same positions. Starting off with the bats, lead off being Kristol with a new bat, then Leanne Shane and Gill, not scoring any runs. Start off pitcher for Berwick was Deb, who again pithing alot of strikes but with Doncaster hitting the ball in the right spot and a little miss fielding from us they scored 4 runs. With Simone feeling a bit under the weather having 1 bat for the day then off to sleep in Micks car. Leaving us with 0 runs for the next inning. Deb pitching to 18 batters and not giving up any walks but a few weird plays from the ladies letting Doncaster score 3 more runs. Still 0 runs from us in the next batting dig. Then with Doncaster scoring them selves another 4 runs giving them a total of 11 runs. Then we found the ball with our bats and also with the help of a few errors from Doncaster we scored 10 runs. Jess Lees with some outstanding pitching this week, keeping them from scoring again. Great game Jess. Only losing by 1 run. It was a great game, with all of the new comers improving every week, bring on the finals. I think we will put up a good fight. Well done ladies, great game.
