After a even start up to the 4th innings with only one run seperating the two teams, Cheltenham White put there foot on the accelerator and got the win, 20 - 7. Several errors pleagued the Dodgers allowing Cheltenham to score 8 unearned runs. In a dissappointing game, there were a few high-lights worth mentioning. A slightly under the weather, Bull, got a couple of hits, one a triple to the centre right fence was a good contributor hitting in 3 R.B.I's and young Andrew Hemmes also hitting a triple to the centre right fence. But the high-light of the day was the fielding finesse of Paul Quinn in centre field. After abusing the coach for putting him out there in the first place, he ran right, he ran left, he even ran in for a sliding catch and came away with 5 put-outs. The boys and Kristol were so impressed with his display, Paul received 3 standing ovations on return to the bench.
A4 - Berwick 16 def. Cheltenham White 9.
We returned to Cyril Molyneaux on Saturday to host the Rustlers with Simone Wearne starting the game for us. Simone and I go back to E grade teammates 10 years ago, so when she asked us if she could throw a few games this winter for us I gladly agreed. Simone dominated the Rustlers hitters from the first pitch through the first 3 digs, ably backed up by rookie catcher Steve Johnson and 3rd baseman Paul Chinnock. Cheltenham struggled early, by contrast the Dodgers were dominant with the bat, launching 9 runs in the 1st dig and hitting right through the lineup. Our offense continued to club the young Rustlers pitching with Roy Huke setting the early running with 2 hits and scoring both times. “Willy” Carpenter and Brian “Beefa” Lees slugged in the runs as usual, with good hits to Big Brett (hitting machine) Antoine and a welcome return hitting from Terry “TV” Van Iersel. Cheltenham made a spirited rally late in the game, but we coasted to a 16 – 9 victory with all players contributing. We go into the bye 3 and 0 and ready for our next challenge.
Till then – see you on the diamond.

Under 16 - Berwick 20 def. Mornington 0
The boys travelled to Mornington and with the bats running hot with 14 hits, and came away with a 20 - 0 score line. Sam Beasley did very well with the bat getting 4 hits, scoring 4 runs and hitting in 3 R.B.I's. Andrew Hemmes also contributed 2 hits, 3 runs and 4 R.B.I's. In the pitching department, Adam Silva & Sam Beasley dominated the game, with the Mornington bats only getting 2 hits for the game. Only 10 batters faced Adam's pitching of which he struck out 6 of them. It was an all round great team effort with all the boys contributing. Other hits went to Adam Silva 3, Craig Barnett 2, Ryan Shane, Craig Durdin & Lucas Lydall with 1 each.
