The game started like it was going to be a tough game for the hitters, with both pitchers giving up only 1 hit each for the first 2 inns. Top of the 3 rd and things turned ugly with Dingley scoring 6 earned runs from only 2 hits. A few pitching changes needed to be made before the Dodgers settled down and we were behind 6-5. The pressure was on the Dingoes to shut us out but the dodgers prevailed to win 8-6. Hitters for the day Richo 3, Bonas, Cosmo & Ferret 2, Wearnie, Adam, Alex and Fuzz 1.
A2 - Berwick 2 lost to Dingley 6.
Without the veteran on the mound we had to go to our catcher to start the game. Benny threw 5 inns and gave up 10 hits with 5 earned runs, but was ropeable with several calls against him, however it was the lack of hits 2 weeks running that cost us the game. Hitters for the day were Hoges, Higgo, Timmy, John and Matt Bostock all with one a piece. Final score 6-2 Dingley.
A3 - Berwick 6 lost to Dingley 19.
The team played Dingley and after a good start, we were overcome losing 19 - 6. Our Gun Leftie started the game, unfortuneately had to be relieved in the first innings by Symbol, who threw the next 4 innings, only giving up 3 earned runs. Bull came on for the last couple of innings, but we were unable to contain the Dingley bats. It was a tough day for our pitchers with 9 errors and 8 unearned runs to contend with. In the batting, the master had a great day out with 2 hits and 4 R.B.I's along with Brad and Andrew Hemmes with 2 each, singles to Cam, Gibbo Jnr and Bull. Team Peulen R.B.I count, Master 9, Apprentice 3.
A4 - Berwick
We travelled to Wearne field to play the Dingley Blue youngsters with almost a full contingent and perfect conditions. We started brightly taking an early lead in the first. Simone Wearne started and shut down Dingley through 2 digs giving up Dingley's only run after 3 giving us a 4 – 1 lead. The game then became a pitching duel for the remaining 4 innings with Brian “Beffa” Lees throwing a shutout supported by what I told the team was one of our best defensive displays for many years. Roy “ The Natural” Huke and Terry “RBI Machine” Van Iersel led the infield from the front, and with a clutch tag out at 3rd at a critical time by Glen “rookie” De Jong being the highlight. “Willy” Carpenter almost pulled of a miraculous 8 -3 double play to top off a very solid contribution from our outfielders. Our batting started off hot but to Dingley's credit they fought back hard with great spirit to hold our hitters. Final score Berwick 4 Dingley Blue 1. Next week we host a very competitive Bonbeach.
Till then – see you on the diamond.

Womens - Berwick 7 lost to Monash Uni 10.
Firstly we would like to thank all of our spectators that came to watch us on match against Monash. Shae being our lead off pitcher, starting a good game, with Monash only scoring a couple of runs against her. We all started well with the bat also scoring a few runs. Then Cas having a pitch, then to be relieved by Simone, Monash scoring a couple more runs . Then out to bat again, with some more great hitting from Berwick. Great fielding from Deb in left field making a few great catches, a lovely twirl from Simone on the mound, getting an out at first base. Great hitting from Shae, Mel, Jo, Gill, Bec, Cas, Jess and an almost Home run from Kristol. only to lose by a couple of runs. Great effort from all this week. Well done Ladies.
Next game at Monash, against Sandringham @ 10.00am
Under 16 - Berwick 18 def. Frankston Black 0.
After the potential tragedy for Mally breaking his leg before the game and getting taken to hospital by ambulance, the boys settled down to business and came away with a 18 - 0 win. Jesse and Anthony Mether did the damage in the pitching department, with only 16 frankston batters facing their pitching in 5 innings. In the batting, hits went to Ryan Shane with 3, Scott Simpson with 2 and singles to Craig, Chillie, Tim and Woody.
Mally update - Leg not broken, just badly bruised and will miss only the one week.
