All the boys put in a good team effort today, coming away with a 9-5 win. Andrew Peulen had a great day on the mound (100 strikes, 39 balls, 139 pitches total), throwing the whole game and only conceding 2 earned runs. The bat cames alive with big Brad Hughes getting 4 hits and sliding into home plate scoring our first run of the game. Other hits went to Bull with 3, Quinny with 2 and a big welcome back to Gibbo Snr, back from injury, with 2 hits. Dick, Andrew Hemmes and Tooly got 1 hit each. A fantastic catching effort from young Gibbo Jnr behind the plate gives us more flexability in defense. Well done young man.
A4 - Berwick 23 def Dandenong Blue 9.
On Sunday we travelled to Dandenong to battle the Angels for 4 th spot. After a poor showing with the bat the previous week, I stressed to the 13 players there, the importance of taking opportunities when they arise and we started from the 1 st batter. In what was to become the first of 15 hits and 23 runs in only 4 completed innings, with all 13 players contributing. Special mention must go to starting shortstop Shae Lillywhite and reliever Simone Wearne with 2 hits a piece. With 4 RBI's to Roy “the natural” Huke and Beeefa Lees and 3 to Craig Taylor rotating the runners and Pauly Chinnock and Steve “Bulldog” Price entertaining all with a unique style of baserunning. Catcher “Little Stevie” Johnson continued his good form crossing the plate 4 times, with L'il Mick Leembruggen one back with 3, it was a good days work all around. Special thanks to all the Dodger fans who turned out to support us, we appreciate your support. Final score Berwick 23 – Dandenong Blue 9. Next round we host ladder leaders Dingley.
Till then – see you on the diamond.

Under 16 - Berwick - Bye
Under 14 - Berwick 20 def Frankston 2.
With being the away team we were first to bat, with scoring 5 runs in the 1st inning with hits from Matthew Chilcott, Daniel Wood, Daniel Durdin and Ethan Laurie, we also had alot of stolen bases, so we were off to a good start. Our 1st pitcher for the game was Jesse Gavin, only giving up 1 hit in 3 innings, but let Frankston score a run with a wild pitch, but a great effort from Jesse. In our 2nd inning for batting we had several hits again from dean McCort, Matthew Chilcott, a 3 base hit from Hayden Thomas and a 3 base hit from Daniel Durdin, a single from Chris Denny and Matt Clydesdale. With a new player coming on board being patient at the plate Mitchell Kmet, getting on base with a walk. With all those hits we scored 7 runs. so the score so far was 12 to 1. Our 3rd batting innings started off with hit from Dean McCort, David Mulhall, Matthew Chilcott, Jesse Gavin, Daniel Durdin and Ethan Laurie, scoring us another 7 runs, bring our total to 19 to 1. Coming into pitch was Ethan Laurie with some awesome pitching, only letting them score 1 run but had 5 strike outs for the game and a great throw from Dean playing catcher to Matthew Chilcott playing short stop to get the runner out trying to steal. Excellent pitching from Ethan. The 4th inning being our last bat, with a hit from Dean McCort and Matt Clydesdale and a few fly balls caught from other batters shut us down with 1 run finishing the game with a win 20 - 2. Excellent batting from Daniel Durdin getting 4 RBI's for the game, 3 RBI's from Ethan Laurie, and several other players over the period of the game. Game win for the boys after having last week off, keep it going guys!!!!!!
Under 12 - Berwick 11 def Cheltenham White 4.
After a dissapointing loss to Cheltenham Blue the Dodgers were keen for a good win against the recently struggling Cheltenham White. Playing on the main diamond gave the kids a buzz and Peter Gelsi also came down to umpire, which was fantastic. First inning, Cheltenham scored one against Starting Pitcher Lachlan Beasley. Bottom of the first and Dodgers scored 3 to take the lead with hits to Lead off Catcher Brad Kmet, Lachlan Beasley and Tyler Cattle. Top of the 2nd and Lachy came back strongly with the help of a great put out at the plate and finished with 2 strikeouts, to hold our lead 3-1. Bottom of the 2nd a Dodgers were retired with no runs scored. Top of the third and Cheltenham came back with one run scored. Lachy also came back and struckout the next hitter and a Fly ball to first basemen Steve Hughes.Top of the fourth and Dodgers scored 3 with some great contact baseball and agressive baserunning. A great line drive double by Vince Liberati also. Top of the 4th Brad Kmet came on and kept Chelt to 2 runs. Dodgers scored another 3 In the 4th and eventually won 11-4. A great win for the Kids. Well done to Lachlan Beasley, Brad Kmet, well hit Vince Liberati, Steve Hughes and great contact Jess Bertram.
